SANTEE ALLEY

Dress: Band of Gypsies, Shoes: Kurt Geiger
Bag: Balenciaga, Necklace: Chicwish
Sunglasses: Karen Walker, Gold Studs: Daphna Simon
Skull Cuff: Alexander McQueen, Snakeskin Cuff: Vintage Gucci

With the holiday season fast approaching, I've been thinking about table settings and I'm frustrated with my options. So I decided to make my own table cloths to spice up the dining room (I'm pretty handy with a sewing machine, don't you know!)

One of my closest friends, James McGowan is an amazing interior and set designer. So he's my go to for advise when it comes to purchases for my home. He suggested we go Downtown to Michael Levine to pick the fabrics and he was so right! They have EVERYTHING you can think of in there and I totally scored. In fact I went a little cray cray, but I'm gonna have so much fun dressing up our table and I'll get back to you with photos when they're done.

Check out some of the delicious fabrics James snapped below.

When we were done at Michael Levine, we popped over to Santee Alley where you can pick up shoes, clothes, bling or a snack if you fancy. Alas, I struck out over there, but we did get these pictures, so I guess it wasn't a complete loss!

ROAST BOWL

Mr. Sykes and I had a rather unsuccessful visit to the Pasadena Rosebowl Flea Market last Sunday. I guess I bragged one time too many about how I always find the exact thing I'm looking for every time I go. I needed bringing down a peg or two.
Ugh! It was such a bummer. Not to mention hotter than a... (fill in the expletive!)
The heat gave me an opportunity to take out my oft forgotten parasol, and rattan visor, which almost made the bum trip worth it-but not quite.
Despite the disappointment, I'm sure I'll be back next month to try again. I will share my spoils with you here, because I always find the exact thing I'm looking for every time I go to the Rosebowl! ; )

PARK LIFE

One of my favorite things to do in New York, is to bike ride in Central Park. With the money we've spent renting bikes, Mr. Sykes and I could've bought a small car I reckon.
But that's living in Manhattan - we don't have anywhere to store a bike! Whadda ya gonna do?!

This Think Closet dress is so comfortable for bike riding in, though I admit the shoes weren't necessarily the smartest option!

My Pamela Love Sun cuff is a favorite and check out my new heart shaped ring from TigerTree - only $34!! Gotta love that.

Take a peep at this little film we made. The music is by Yann Tiersen from the Amelie soundtrack (love that movie).
 Hope you like it.

ROW YOUR BOAT

I will arise and go now, for always night and day
I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore;
While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements grey,
I hear it in the deep heart's core.

SCHOOL DAZE

How cool is this school? (Yes, I am a poet!)
Mr. Sykes and I pass this wall art pretty much everyday, as we walk our pooch Baxter. It always induces a smile from me, with it's multi cultural characters and positive message.
