ANIMAL PRINT

ANIMAL PRINT
I rejected animal print clothing for years. I thought it was a bit vulgar and too reminiscent of Bet Lynch! (Or Scary Spice).

For those of you not familiar with Britain's long running beloved soap opera, Coronation Street, Bet Lynch was a chain smoking, leopard print wearing barmaid with a blonde beehive for days.
Not really the look I was going for in my twenties (or at anytime if I'm honest!)

However, I guess there's a bit of Bet in all of us, because I have a confession to make - I LOVE ANIMAL PRINTS!

Once I finally admitted that to myself, I kinda went bananas; jeans, blouses, shoes, socks. You name it and I own it in some kind of Leopard or Cheetah print.

So I wanted to share this seasons must have animal print items with you here.
Enjoy!

SANTEE ALLEY

Dress: Band of Gypsies, Shoes: Kurt Geiger
Bag: Balenciaga, Necklace: Chicwish
Sunglasses: Karen Walker, Gold Studs: Daphna Simon
Skull Cuff: Alexander McQueen, Snakeskin Cuff: Vintage Gucci

With the holiday season fast approaching, I've been thinking about table settings and I'm frustrated with my options. So I decided to make my own table cloths to spice up the dining room (I'm pretty handy with a sewing machine, don't you know!)

One of my closest friends, James McGowan is an amazing interior and set designer. So he's my go to for advise when it comes to purchases for my home. He suggested we go Downtown to Michael Levine to pick the fabrics and he was so right! They have EVERYTHING you can think of in there and I totally scored. In fact I went a little cray cray, but I'm gonna have so much fun dressing up our table and I'll get back to you with photos when they're done.

Check out some of the delicious fabrics James snapped below.

When we were done at Michael Levine, we popped over to Santee Alley where you can pick up shoes, clothes, bling or a snack if you fancy. Alas, I struck out over there, but we did get these pictures, so I guess it wasn't a complete loss!

EYE EYE

Clockwise From Top Left:
Karen Walker, Stella McCartney

I think I may have mentioned that I have quite the collection of sunnies. But that never stops me needing (read: wanting) every fabulous new pair I see! Yes, I know-it's a problem, though I hear the first step is just admitting it right?! ; )

I had a lot of fun flirting with all of these awesome shades and ultimately decided on the tortoise shell Karen Walker's (seen below, bottom right). Oh and also a dope pair of blue prescription specs from Super Glasses.

Incidentally, the lipstick I'm wearing is a Chanel, Rouge Noir circa 1995 (or there abouts). I'm loving that dark lipsticks are on trend this season, I'm totally into it!
