COLOR ME DOTTY

Color Me Dotty

I've been having so much fun figuring my way around the collage pages on Polyvore. Here's another one I made just for the heck of it.

There's something a little preppy about this look, but the leather, bright colors and skulls give it a little edge. A few of the pieces are hella expensive and I definitely think you could achieve a similar look without breaking the bank.

I like to take inspiration from financially out of reach fashion and put the look together for less elsewhere. Thank goodness for the High Street!

OFF THE WALL

Whilst still in New York, I passed this amazing wall art in Soho late one night after dinner and was obsessed with photographing it for about a week.

We ended up taking the pictures on an insanely sweltering day and at one point I thought Mr. Sykes might have to peel me off the pavement. I'm not kidding, it was no joke man!

PS. I love this outfit!
PPS. The shorts are super comfy.
PPS. The button up blouse in over 90 degree heat-not so much.

Blouse: TopShop. Shorts: BCBG Maxazria. Shoes: Kurt Geiger.
Bag: Proenza Schouler. Sunglasses: Stella McCartney (similar here).

HEAD CASE

I came across this fun shoot on Fashion Gone Rogue, by photographer Elle Muliarchyk for the latest issue of Dossier. I'm so impressed with model Hartje Andresen, she makes standing on her head look so easy and well, stylish. That's what I call a Yogi.

GOTTA HAVE IT

I'm a little late to the party on this one, but these Christian Louboutin Cris iPad cases are too FIERCE. I don't think the leopard print is even available anymore and I admit they're on the pricey side, but look at them! You can find the black on black here. I think I'll just be looking at the pictures for now.

There's definitely a theme developing in my closet at the moment, I'm just really feeling studs. I saw this collar on F-urstenberg's page and it was love at first sight. There are a bunch of designers making custom versions of these on Etsy. Just be careful you don't poke someones eye out!

I don't need to say anything about this beauty. I believe it speaks for itself. LOVE!

I've got my eyes peeled for the perfect vintage Chanel Brooch. I love that it'll look as good on me as my Grandma, the true definition of timeless fashion. For more images see TheChicBizarreEffect.

Gotta Have It happens to be the name of my friend Denise Portmans' fabulous vintage store in Venice Beach, CA. Check it out here.

SILKY

I got a bunch of compliments on this outfit today, which makes any of us feel great, right? I'm carrying my trusty Proenza Schouler PS1 and wearing jewelry by Pamela Love, a simple silk dress from T By Alexander Wang and shoes I got on sale last year by Robert Clergerie. Oh and my The Row sunglasses were a splurge. Important fact: these earrings make me feel like Neneh Cherry in the Raw Like Sushi days. Thought you might wanna know that! ; )

CATS AND DOGS

When I lived in England I would never leave the house without an umbrella, even if it was cracking the flags gorgeous outside. But since moving to the States years ago, I seem to have fallen out of the habit. Meaning EVERY time it has rained here in New York in the past couple of months (which is a lot), I have gotten caught in it. And believe me, this rain is no joke, this rain has beef, something serious to say. But does it have to keep saying it all over me and my Proenza Schouler PS1 purse? I mean, really!

The dress is a fun pink leopard print by Evil Twin. I think it's long sold out, but ASOS carries a bunch of cute pieces from their collection.
